Twilight, New Moon... I don't get it....

I may be a little late to the party... but, recently I was pretty much forced into watching these films... and I just don't get what's so great about Twilight and New Moon. Yeah, yeah... the fact that I was pretty much dragged by the collar to the theaters, spent around $40 bucks on tickets/popcorn/drinks doesn't help either... but still...

To me, the whole vampire/romance/etc. genre has just been pushed to the brink and films like these just keep rising from the grave and no amount of garlic/crosses/stakes or even sunlight is enough to keep 'em from trying to bleed me and my wallet dry.

Don't get me wrong... I'm not an "Anti-Vampite." I liked Interview with the Vampire (Tom Cruise's best performance ever in my opinion) and Tsukihime (the Visual Novel) is a guilty pleasure of mine... but I'm just having a little trouble trying to see what's so great about Twilight.

Is it just me?

Should I just treat this experience like a fart in a crowded elevator?

Naruto/ Bleach Superb? Or Just Another Shonen?

Hahaha...

This is the kind of topic that just begs for a flame war to start up, but lets try to keep it civil.

Yes, you could argue that both are just more modern versions of Title X or Y. Hell, you could say the same about the latest Madonna/Britney/Miley clone... or whatever new Twilight Hollywood's trying milk... but just ask yourself this, "Was it entertaining?" If "yes" was your answer, then great... if it's "no" then just walk away. And that's pretty much what it's all about.

As for me, I've got my pre-orders already set for Naruto, Vol. 47 and Bleach, Vol. 30.

"It's mainstream, but it's tons of fun."

Oh No! Not Another Anime/Manga/Whatever Blog

Yeah, yeah... it's been done to too many times, but what ever. There's no such thing as too much when it comes to this stuff for a true fan.... right?

I'd like to say I'd be mainly focusing on R1 releases... but, from time to time, I guess I'll rant a little on the latest "hot" thing happening in the land of the rising sun... hehe.
